Description: The pieces in Op.32 are the results of Schumann's engagement with Bach and Mozart. They combine the contrapuntal tradition with the 'light muse'. Gigue and Fughetta may be regarded a demonstrations of his craftsmanship. Scherzo and Romance stand in the Viennese tradition while clearly bearing the hallmarks of romanticism. These short pieces are wonderful for the intermediate pianist. Edited by Wiltrud Haug-Freienstein. Fingering by Leif Ove Andsnes. Published by G. Henle, Distributed by Hal Leonard.
