Description: G. Henle Verlag presents Robert Schumann's Piano Sonata in F Minor Op.14. This sonata, also titled by Schumann as Concerto without Orchestra in f minor, Op.14, was-as the composer himself later declared- written in his "darkest period." Schumann noted in his diary that he had "composed the Concerto without Orchestra" during the summer of 1836 and that during this time he had been "completely separated from Clara-a decision of my own." The fact that the Sonata eventually was published as a triple movement "Concerto" may possibly be attributed to the publisher of the first edition, Tobias Haslinger, of Vienna.
