Description: An Alfred Masterwork Edition presents Claude Debussy's L'isle Joyeuse. Wilfrid Mellers calls L'isle Joyeuse (The Joyous Island) "the most wonderful piano piece Debussy ever wrote." All of Debussy's biographers believe it was composed during July-August 1904 while Debussy was visiting the Isle of Jersey, one of the islands in the English Channel. This edition is based on the autograph located in Paris at the Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Durand edition published in September, 1904.
