Description: Scarlatti left only a few manuscript collections of sonatas when he died in Madrid on July 23, 1757. These remained almost unkown to the musical world until Carl Czerny, in 1839, published 200 of them in an edition in Vienna. This edition probably did more than anything else to keep Scarlatti's name alice during the 19th century, although Franz Liszt did perform Scarlatti in his public recitals and was perhaps the first pianist to do so. Published by Alfred. Edited by Maurice Hinson.
