Description: Alexander Tcherepnin created a number of very popular works, but perhaps none so popular as the Bagatelles, Op. 5. In fact, he eventually presented these winsome short pieces in a version with orchestra. Their appeal is doubtless in their modern touch with great accesibility of sound coupled with a varitey and charm that audiences everywhere enjoy. They often demend a bright, rapid finger technique, but, on the other hand, they are never too involved technically and are short enough to master rather quickly. They are miniatures that plead for performance and result in applause. Published by Alfred. Edited by Lynn Freeman Olson.
